When the software want to get a connection with the hardware, the COM Port should be set first.  In general, it is connected via a computer COM Port to the device.  No matter the interface of the device is Bluetooth or USB, both will set a virtual COM Port in the device manager by Bluetooth and USB drivers.  Please make sure the correct COM Port number from the “COM Port” of the “Device Manager” under Windows, and select it.  For instance, COM1, COM2, COM3....., the digit of 1,2,3 is the COM Port number.  The COM Port number of every computer may be different, so we suggest that you could reconfirm it first.  In addition, the other key parameter when setting the connection is Baud Rate (the unit of Baud Rate is bps; Bit per second).  If above two parameters are correct, the connection between device and computer should be working.

1. Power on the device.

2. Connect the device and computer by connecting cable.

3. Open the software (TimeMachineX).

4. Set the connecting parameter.

5. Connect.

1. Click Connection, and then the following list will pop up.

If the setting of connecting parameter is correct, you can press 1 to connect or 2 to disconnect.

If it is incorrect, you have to modify the connecting parameter.  Please click 3 or 4 and then the following window will pop up.

1. TimeMachineX will auto search available COM Ports in computer, so you just need to select the correct number.  If the TimeMachineX doesn’t show up the COM Port correctly, you also can key in the Com Port number got from the COM Port of Device Manager under Windows by yourself.

2. Select the correct baud rate, the default is 57600.

If the connection is successful, the following icon will show up in the menu of Connection.

1. After connecting successfully, when the device keeps transmitting the data, the icon keeps rotating.

#RemarkThe icon will show up even the COM Port or baud rate is not correct, so we suggest that you could enter the Device Manager to see if it is reading log correctly.
