Q1: I have a foreign tour, how do I set the time between my digital camera and track?
A1: The time of the track record is uniformly based on the UTC i.e. the default time of GPS, so you don’t need to modify the time of the device no matter which country you will go; however, the time of digital camera should be changed. For instance, the destination is Japan, and the time zone of Japan is +09 : 00. Before departure, you have to adjust the time of camera to Japan’s local time, and use Wintec’s GPS products with Data Logger when you take photos. After returning, please upload the track file and modify the time zone to +09 : 00 like following sample.

Now the track file is based on the correct time zone, you can use this file to do Auto-GeoTagging
Repeat all steps as below:
1. Get the same time between your camera and the local time where you want to go.
2. The GPS device (with Data Logger) should be power on when you take photos.
3. Adjust the time zone of the track file.
4. Auto-GeoTagging to photos.
Q2: In the TimeMachineX, there are TK1, TK2, Tk3,... What kind of files they are?
A2:
TK1
: Every
TK1 includes one or more tracks, and each track includes Push To Log.
TK2
: Every
TK2 provides only one track, and the track includes Push To Log.
TK3
: Each
TK3
file only offers Push To Log and its information.
TK4
: The
Mark file for G-Trender (WSG-1000)
Q3: I have a WBT100,WBT200 and Easy Showily (WPL1000), how do I use TimeMachineX to edit the track?
A3:
Because WBT100 & WBT200 can not use TimeMachineX to download log data, you have to use G-Tool to download log data first and then transform it. Please refer to following picture.

1. Select the track file of G-TOOL.
2. Select the output track file as TimeMachineX Format (TMX-tk1).
3. Press the “Start Convert” button.
4. Press the “Save” button to save it.
The procedure for the user of Easy Showily (WPL-1000) is shown as below.

1. Press the “TimeMachineX” button to convert the track file to TK1.
2. Select the converted file.
3. Press the right key of mouse.
4. Select the item of “Copy to...”
And then copy the TK1 file to the TK1 folder under TMX,
or copy the file, open the TMX and paste the TK1 file to TMX. Please refer to the following picture.

1. Select a TK1 file.
2. Copy and paste it to TMX.

Now, you can convert the TK1 to other formats for your application. Please refer to the “Track Convert” of this user manual.
Q4: Does TimeMachineX supports GeoTag for the photo with RAW format? Such as Nikon’s .NEF file?
A4: TMX is able to support the photo with RAW format from Nikon’s .NEF file. Because the format from each brand of digit camera is not exactly the same, some formats can not be written in, that means the TMX doesn’t support it. In addition, the size of RAW format is much bigger than all common one, so TMX doesn’t support Auto-GeoTagging, only by manually. How to GeoTag into RAW format, please refer to GeoTag manually
Q5: About The Time to First Fix (TTFF)?
A5: There are three reasons that GPS gets quickly positioning
when power on.
1. Almanac Data, the trajectory information of all satellites.
2. The latest valid position.
3. The present time.
The principle is the BASEBAND of GPS receiver can figure out the position of
each time on the circle of the rack at 55 degrees of the equator that all satellites
circling according to almanac data. And which time?
It depends on the present time on your GPS receiver. The reference
time could be figured out by the almanac data if there is present time on GPS
and then get the circle from satellites at present, however, the satellites
you received will be absolutely different by where you are, so the GPS has to
refer to the latest valid position to get the present position and all satellites
at present. At the moment, the GPS will figure out the PRN code of present
satellite and the GPS receiver will just focus on those satellites, that’s
why it can fix position in the short time.
There are some common issues:
What is the reason for slowly positioning while the GPS device didn’t
use for a long time?
1. RTC overflow : RTC (Real
time clock) is a time counter used when the GPS device
shuts down. Some IC using the counter with small size, so when the
memory is full and then the time counter will lose efficacy.
2. The overdue almanac data. The almanac data separates exquisite and
rough two types, the valid time for exquisite one is around half hour and 1~2
weeks for rough one. The rough almanac data can be broadcasted by any
satellite, 12.5 minutes make a cycle, and a cycle of exquisite almanac data
is 30 seconds, but the exquisite almanac data from each satellite just can be
broadcasted by itself.
3. If the battery for back up three conditions mentioned above has run down,
the data in the device would lose and cause a cold start.
Q6: My GPS device can not connect to Time Machine X!
A6: Please check following points (you don’t need to according to priority).
1. Does the device power on? Even the TMX is able to connect successfully, however, the software can not communicate with device if it doesn’t power on.
2. Is there any problem with the USB cable connected the device and computer?
3. Have you installed the USB driver? If not, please install it from the folder of USB Driver of TMX.
4. Please check if the Bluetooth connection is okay or not when the communication is used via Bluetooth.
5. Please check if the COM Port number is correct or not.
6. Please reconfirm if the used baud rate is correct. The default is 57600.
Q7: I can not upload photos to Locr, the error message always shows up (.NET Framework xxx error).
A7: Please check if your computer has installed the “.NET Framework” or not. If not, you could download it by following link.
A8: Please visit our website at http://www.wintec.com.tw and see if there is any newest version of TMX or user manual.
Q9: The recorded track has a serious shift! What can I do?
A9: Regarding the issue of shift track point, following are something you have to know.
1. Operation environment : It is hard to avoid the unqualified record if the GPS device is put on somewhere without better signals. Please do your best to put the device on somewhere with good signals for better performance. For example, keeps the front side of the device facing the open sky.
2. Set conditions for signal, following are three types for your reference:
a. By GPS Fix Status : In the Navigation Setting of GPS Setting of Device Setting, you can remove weak signals or set stricter conditions in the block of navigation input and output filters for better positioning.
b. By Log Setting Mode : Remove the invalid and serious shift track point by Log Setting.
c. By Track Editor : After downloading the track, you can delete the unnecessary point or modify the shift point by Track Editor.
Q10: How do I change the file name?
A10: You just select one file in any window with track file, and then press the “F2”button , now the file name can be changed. Please refer to following picture.

Q11: What kind of update that new version Time Machine X provides?
A11:
Version 2.6
1. Improve the efficiency of browsing photos in the Photo Tool.
2. Simplify the toolbar
3. Improve the way of device connection. Users now can key in the COM Port by themselves, and it can solve the problem with not finding COM Port.
4. Improve the function of “Track Editor”.
5. Increase the function for sieving the track points.
6. Increase the function for providing the report of track analysis.
7. Increase the function for supporting the map shown on blog.
8. Increase the function for inserting the photo and video on the map.
9. Fro the file transforming function, use the right key list instead of the dragging.
10. Increase the function for downloading and uploading the Mark (For G-Trender Only).
11. Modify the NMEA transformation.
Q12:How to publish my track report on Google Pages (or Home Page)?
A12:
